Alcohol 03:35
It started downstairs I hated all my friends So i picked up a six string Call me a prodigy, whatever I was never that I just had a bad temper and Had a bad summer, yeah Now I’ve finally found a place that I thought I could call my home But as it turns out It’s not what I thought And I only feel more alone So I can’t stay here Cuz everybody sucks, dear We were young and we were tired of it all So we ran away and started drinking alcohol We were nothing more than cushioning the fall So we ran away and started drinking alcohol And where we are, I just don’t know Driving all night in a shit Echo And I don’t wanna stop till we hit the west coast Got booze in the trunk and we’re already stoned And I’ve finally found some people I can call my home And as it turns out, they’re just what I thought And I don’t feel so alone But I don’t belong here (That’s ok! That’s ok!) Cuz everybody’s lost, dear We were young and we were tired of it all So we ran away and started drinking alcohol We were nothing more than cushioning the fall So we ran away and started drinking alcohol

Body 03:43
Oh Can you feel it in your soul? Dancing in the blood Like a swimming hole See All the things that we can be All the trouble we will flee I just wanna believe Oh, can you feel it in your body? Oh, can you feel it in your body? Oh, I can feel it all around me Life of the party Feel it in your body Dance With a trusted hand And if we ever fall Make it so grand See Whatever we can think Without a sense of hope What am I to be? Oh, can you feel it in your body? Oh, can you feel it in your body? Oh, I can feel it all around me Life of the party Feel it in your body

Money 03:30
I’m wasting my time looking for money I’m wasting my time searching for honeys Grab a Coke pass out on the couch Let the TV drown me out, yeah I don’t ever need nobody Tonight, I’m taking over the world Instead of stressing over California girls And I don’t wanna be a burden But lately I’ve been hurting So tonight I’ll take what I deserve I’m wasting my time looking for money I’m wasting my time searching for honeys Grab a Coke pass out on the couch Let the TV drown me out, yeah I don’t ever need nobody I wanna be seventeen Before my rent, before my car, before I had no means Of paying off what I had loaned I just wanna go back home, home, home, oh no! So what are we waiting for? All our hopes and dreams are just outside the door So what if we need these jobs? I don’t care Not at all I’m wasting my time looking for money I’m wasting my time searching for honeys Grab a Coke pass out on the couch Let the TV drown me out, yeah I don’t ever need nobody

Stay Away 01:59
Aye, okay, come on listen to me I don’t wanna be the one to take you home today And aye, okay, we can run away Away from all the troubles that might come our way And aye, okay, drive along with me Driving to the country and drive to the city Aye okay come on listen to me I don’t wanna be the one to take you home today Aye, aye aye, we can lose our minds today Aye, aye aye, we’re not gonna take you home today We can stay away, let’s stay away (Classical guitar solo) Aye, aye aye, we can lose our minds today Aye, aye aye, we’re not gonna take you home today We can stay away, let’s stay away Aye Aye Aye I don’t wanna take you home today I’m not gonna take you home today I don’t wanna take you home today I’m not gonna take you home today

KEEP'EMOUT! 04:05
I’m going up in flames On the corner of Mercury and South Rutherford and Main Where we met at the university We all shaved our heads For the simple sake of uni- T minus thirty days Till our hair grows back but we’ll shave it again! They come in but they don’t say nothing Look around, there’s nothing but trouble Moving shit we can hear them coming Make it fast but don’t break something Who invited them? Fuck no! Fuck no you’re never gonna keep them Fuck no you’re never gonna keep them out Let’s pack up all our shit! Buy four tickets for an airplane Out to LAX With no real plans and no regrets Standing in the pouring rain With our eyes looking low on the walk of Fame in Hollywood Feels so grimy but it looks so good They come in but they don’t say nothing Look around, there’s nothing but trouble Moving shit we can hear them coming Make it fast but don’t break something Who invited them? Fuck no! Fuck no you’re never gonna keep them Fuck no you’re never gonna keep them out wah wah wah waaaaaah wah wah wah waaaaaah wah wah wah waaaaaah wah wah wah wah wah wah waaaaaah wah wah wah waaaaaah wah wah wah waaaaaah wah wah wah

Long Ride 04:26
Wait, now We’ve come so far, now And we can’t stop, now No, we can’t change Go, now Leave your old town Start your life, now Something new for a change You just gotta believe In something, please It’s gonna be a long ride to the ocean Gonna be a long ride to the sea I don’t know where the wind is blowing I don’t know where it’s taking me And I don’t know what the future’s holding But I can’t wait to finally see It’s gonna be a long ride It’s gonna be a long ride for me Back, now Away from it all, now Knowing somehow We can’t fade Cuz nothing that you do is gonna bring me down The power of the world is such a lonely sound Too lonely for me It’s gonna be a long ride to the ocean Gonna be a long ride to the sea I don’t know where the wind is blowing I don’t know where it’s taking me And I don’t know what the future’s holding But I can’t wait to finally see It’s gonna be a long ride It’s gonna be a long ride for me

Now & Then 04:52
I’m walking home I’m in the snow But my feet are not as deep as I used to know But that’s okay I’m not alone Everyone just needs some space now and then to grow And I’m climbing, and I’m climbing, but Oh I feel like coming down And I don’t wanna chase it but I do And I’m running all around Finding something else to do And I want it so bad And I’m going so mad But I feel like coming down I know I’m wrong I know you’re right But all this arguing’s just wasting more sunlight So leave it be We’ll be alright We just need a little space now and then to find That we’re climbing, we’re climbing but Oh I feel like coming down And I don’t wanna chase it but I do And I’m running all around Finding something else to do And I want it so bad And I’m going so mad But I feel like coming down

Don’t you feel like everything’s gonna change dear? I’m running in circles and I can’t find the start And I look around to find to find that nobody can be defined as A morally bad person at heart And lately I feel so lonely Cuz I feel like nobody knows me But I just don’t know myself Cuz everywhere I go I want to find A little piece of heart to keep my mind From drifting away from life as I grow From running away from people I know And now I’m going back to the start To try to find my own piece of heart I need to stop running from life, I know I need to stop running away as I grow So now we’re talking through a screen My face lit up by your ill luminosity And I miss the city with you And I know a part of you still misses it, too But lately I feel so lonely Cuz I feel like nobody loves me But I just need to love myself

Peach 04:28
I don't wanna go back I'm falling too far off track Cuz this is not the life I need I don't wanna go back Cuz I'm kicking it back And I'm doing what I believe And what I say is what I say And what I feel is what I play And what I do is what I do So stay the hell away

about

On their self-titled sophomore effort, New Threads is essentially starting over from scratch. The departure of founding bassist Robby Angelotti is swiftly glossed over with the introduction of Dan Suarez, as band leaders Jacob Keplinger and Justin Siegel put forth their best work to date. 'Death in the Afternoon' feels far in the rear view mirror at this point, with 'NEW THREADS' topping the group's debut in every way- slicker production, catchier hooks, grittier aesthetics, and it truly changes the game for this Tennessee rock quartet. New Threads is back, and they are not to be tampered with.
